EXCITED....and a little bit...or a lot a bit Nervous

I'm sitting in the Embassy Suites in Laredo, Texas.  And there is loud music coming from downstairs.  We are on the second floor and there is a Laredo Firemans Christmas Party in the meeting room downstairs.  Luckily all of the kids, except Mason, fell asleep before the music started.

Today was an easy day.  Our kids are great travelers.....thank goodness for electronics...

A few highlights include:

Stopping at Rumpy's German Bakery for gas and snacks.

Too much cuteness...watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Pizza Hut in the hotel room after swimming and showers

Driving on the new toll road to bypass Austin.  Fastest highway in the US.

So the plan is to hit the road tomorrow about 6:30.  We think it should take us about 9 hours to get to San Miguel de Allende.  On our Carson's buddy's Mom is from Monterrey, Mexico.  We talked with her today and they are going to be arriving in Monterrey tomorrow afternoon.  We are happy to have a friend in Mexico to help us out if we need something.

Dexter is working away tonight.  Trying to make sure our international phone will work, making sure we have multiple ways to view our directions.  We have a GPS, a map of Mexico and turn by turn directions printed off of Google Maps.  I'm feeling like we're ready to go, but I can tell he is shouldering a lot of pressure to make sure all goes well tomorrow.  So the next time I write, I hope it will be to tell you we've arrived in SMA with no fun stories to tell.  There will be plenty of time for fun stories later in the trip.
