We picked the kids up from school about an hour early and had the car packed and ready at 3pm. We stopped in Wichita for dinner, at BJs, one of our favorite places. Sadly the boys could not drink their delicious root beer by the gallon, due to road trip beverage consumption rules.
Poor Porter said when we stopped in Emporia for a bathroom break (1 1/2 hrs into the trip)..."are we there? Is this Mexico?"
If you're stir crazy in KC, there are plenty of museums between KC and Oklahoma City to thrill you
- The Teachers Hall of Fame
- The Infantry Museum
- The Oil Museum
- National Cowboy and Western Museum
Tomorrow the plan is to drive from here to Laredo, TX. Should be about 8 hours and put us right on the US/Mexico border.
